Message from St Mary's School Chair of Governors
St Mary's has a very active Governing Body which comprises parents, staff and members of the local community. All our Governors are committed to supporting and challenging the school to ensure that every child achieves their potential within a caring environment.
Our work is broad but very rewarding. Governors visit the school frequently to observe lessons, assemblies and acts of worship. We talk to the Headteacher about planning and progress, help set targets, monitor the professional development of staff and review key policies. We are involved in every level of the school's life, from helping out on trips to making inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
We encourage high standards to be upheld at all times from all those within the school "family". If you are interested in finding out more about the Governing Body, perhaps with a view to joining us, or helping out with some of our work, please do not hesitate to contact the Chair of Governors via the school office.
The Governors have signed and adhere to the attached Governors Code of Conduct.
The Governors have completed and signed Annual Declaration of Interest forms.
The Governors have agreed to adopt the following statements:
Professional Negligence Statement
Advice given by governors at this school is incidental to their professional expertise and is not being given in their professional capacity.
