St Mary’s C of E Primary School

‘Learning for Life’

Nursery (3-5 year olds)

Parents who wish for their child to attend our Nursery, are asked to complete and submit an application form. These can be completed once their child is two years old, whereupon their child's name will be placed on the waiting list.  All children are entitled to 15 hours free care per week. We also offer spaces to children who are entitled to 30 hours free nursery care per week. (Please visit: surreycc.gov.uk/30hourschildcare to see if you are eligible.) The Nursery day is from 9.15am to 3.15pm and the sessions offered are as follows:

  • All day Monday & Tuesday plus Wednesday morning (until 11.45am) or
  • Wednesday afternoon (from 12.15pm) plus all day Thursday & Friday

An optional school lunch is available for those children who attend any full days and must be paid for in advance at the chargeable rate. Lunches currently cost £2.80 per day (payable in advance).  All other children who attend the Nursery for a full day are required to bring a packed lunch.

There is an option to drop your child off at 8.45am on the days they are in all day which is currently charged at £3.00 each day.

Top up sessions are subject to availability and currently charged at a rate of £20.50 each morning or afternoon additional session.

Selection to St Mary's nursery is based on the same as school admissions, as stated in Surrey County Council Admission Arrangements. There is a main intake in September for children who are three years old by 31 August of that year.   Further intakes may be offered for January and April, if spaces are available.

Each child offered a place will then be invited for one or more visits to the Nursery and children are expected to start their agreed days/hours from the start of the nursery term.

Nursery children wear a school polo shirt, school sweatshirt or cardigan and black tracksuit bottoms, trainers or shoes.  No open toe sandals.
